TL;DR
To modernize the audience segment of a veteran hospitality property, I initiated a targeted influencer collaboration with micro-influencer @____ashhhhh. The campaign specifically aimed to build organic brand awareness within the 18–25 age demographic, a market where the hotel traditionally lost traction to newer competitors.
Stack I Used
Campaign Strategy & Pre-Visualization: Microsoft Excel & Planoly (Mapping out the promotional calendar and managing grid continuity)
Visual Direction & Production: Adobe InDesign & Custom Agency Frames (Reviewing the presentation layer of our organic assets)
Ad & Content Deployment: Meta Business Suite (Natively coordinating and tracking the social rollout)
External Content Tools: Handled entirely on the creator's end (CapCut/Mobile Video Editing software)
Rejuvenating a Veteran Brand
Hotel Country Villa is a well-established property with a loyal clientele of millennials and baby boomers driven by strong travel agent relationships. However, internal data showed a critical gap: we were completely losing traction among the 18 to 25 demographic to newer, trendier competitors. To bridge this, I launched the "Escape to the Clouds" campaign. Instead of chasing mainstream celebrities, I partnered with a micro-influencer, Ash, who was growing rapidly within our target age group. The strategy relied entirely on her incredibly high engagement rates and her active lifestyle footprint as an extroverted trendsetter in the local social scene.
Managing this partnership was completely seamless because we chose the right collaborator. I oversaw the campaign personally, traveling on-site to assist with some of the photography and ensuring she had everything she needed. Beyond a clear creative brief focusing on the "above the clouds" experience of waking up at the property, I gave her complete artistic liberty. She handled all of her own content creation, filming, and video editing, which allowed the final TikTok and Instagram assets to feel completely authentic to her style rather than sounding like a rigid corporate ad.
The organic campaign performed exceptionally well on a visibility level, with one of the embedded TikTok videos crossing 1,700 likes and generating widespread buzz. Because the content was entirely creator-driven and native to the platforms the younger crowd uses, it gave the hotel a fresh, modern aesthetic. My role as the department lead was to anchor this creative energy into our monthly agency workflow, demonstrating that we could successfully pivot a traditional brand's image toward a younger, digital-first audience entirely through organic creator advocacy.
Learning
Micro-influencers with higher-than-average engagement and genuine social footprints are far more effective for niche audience targeting than mainstream celebrities with massive vanity metrics PERIOD!
While the campaign lacked immediate backend digital attribution, it ultimately led to sustained long-term success with the younger crowd—proving that our biggest operational hurdle wasn't the execution, but convincing traditional clients to look past raw follower numbers and invest in a continuous pipeline of micro-influencer partnerships.
