TL;DR
I led the concept, coordination, and lifestyle photography for this high-end "Poolside" campaign at Hotel Shanker. Pushing back against traditional management expectations to focus on experiential storytelling rather than standard property architecture, I captured authentic, unposed visual assets that specifically targeted the aspirational lifestyle of the 18–25 demographic.
Stack I Used
Campaign Strategy & Scheduling: Microsoft Excel & Planoly (Organizing the content framework and social grid continuity)
Production & High-End Photography: Shot entirely on my personal Nikon D750 rig using a 50mm lens with zero flash to preserve natural light; video assets directed and delegated to my production crew
Post-Production & Editing: Adobe Lightroom (Color correction) and Adobe Photoshop (Precision skin correction and layout assembly)
Distribution: Meta Business Suite & YouTube Studio (Natively managing the rollout of vertical Instagram layouts and horizontal video content)
Selling the Experience over the Architecture
When developing the "Poolside" campaign for Hotel Shanker, I had a massive creative disagreement with management. They wanted standard, traditional shots showcasing the physical layout of the property, but I stood my ground. People don't book a luxury resort to look at buildings—they book it for the experience of who they can be in that space. My vision was rooted in a simple, raw brief to myself: “Keep it simple, natural, and don't make it look fake.” I deliberately captured unposed, split-second moments—like a burst-shot frame of the model with her eyes closed—to show a real, relatable perspective that breaks through the noise of over-polished social media feeds.
Executing a multi-platform lifestyle shoot like this is the definition of organized chaos. I took on a heavy cross-functional role, personally selecting our model, Anisha, specifically for her strong appeal with the 18–25 crowd and her extensive experience with poolside aesthetics. On set, I worked closely with our makeup team from Tranquility Spa and coordinated wardrobe curation from Ease.Swim under the guidance of our senior photographer, Saroj Patrabansha. My days were a blur of jumping behind the camera lens to shoot natural-light frames one afternoon, and driving across the city the next day to manually return the wardrobe items.
To maximize the lifetime value of the production, I built a fluid content strategy that split the creative assets between video and static media. While I focused on capturing natural lifestyle photography on the D750, I directed and delegated our videography team to produce high-end short features like "Poolside Paradise Awaits" using a professional Nikon D850 rig. We balanced the layout flow across platforms, scheduling the vertical photography natively on Meta Business Suite to keep the Instagram grid looking cohesive, while deploying the cinematic video content through YouTube Studio to capture search intent.
Learning
Failing to plan a strong follow-up strategy completely kills a campaign's momentum. While the visual aesthetic of this shoot was incredibly strong, we suffered from low traction because we didn't back it up with a human-centric follow-up narrative. Looking back, our biggest missed opportunity was not utilizing Anisha for a User-Generated Content (UGC) or User POV campaign, which would have given the resort a powerful, authentic voice to sustain the audience's attention.
